There has been much discussion about 3C509's on this list.
A few people have reported problems like yours.

I would suggest swapping out the NICs for another card
on the supported list and see if your problem goes away.

Using GBL 3.03 on a Compaq 486 with 16MB RAM. NIC's are 3com 3c509's.


All of a sudden Gnatbox appears to stop! There are messages on the console
about filtered "broadcasts" on the protected NIC so I know that GBL can
still see traffic from the protected network. Can't ping the GBL protected
interface from any where on the protected network.

>From the Gnatbox console, using the ping function, in an attempt to
ping a node on the protected network, get the following error message:

   Unable to send packet. No buffer space available.

CAN ping hosts upstream of the external NIC.

Any ideas?
