There has been much discussion about 3C509's on this list. A few people have reported problems like yours.
I would suggest swapping out the NICs for another card on the supported list and see if your problem goes away. There are messages on the console about filtered "broadcasts" on the protected NIC so I know that GBL can still see traffic from the protected network. Can't ping the GBL protected interface from any where on the protected network. >From the Gnatbox console, using the ping function, in an attempt to ping a node on the protected network, get the following error message: Unable to send packet. No buffer space available. CAN ping hosts upstream of the external NIC.
