I wasn't assuming anything...  Guy didn't give us anything
to go on, so I was hoping for more details.

Having said that, the symptoms that Guy described sound a
lot like the symptoms that have been described by people
using 3C509 network cards with the GBPro.  If Guy is, in
fact, using 3C509 network cards he may be experiencing the
same problem reported by others.
