What the deal is: Oracle supports something called "Connection Manager". This implementation uses port 66, or SQL_NET proxy to communicate through the firewall.
Because I do not want to open a wide range of ports to my internal net, this is the only method available. So far, I have located the protocol/port by switching to "Basic Mode" and looking at port 66. However, it does not appear to work. The documentation says it is supported. It may be my implementation, it may be a bug, it may be unsupported. I have no idea. All I know is my deadline to implement is Monday and I have beaten on this for over a week, with little luck! GTA - Now would be a good time to step up and state the obvious - Does this feature work (Yes or No), and how do we implement it? All input and assistance is appreciated! I've set up quite a few clients and servers in a development environment and am having trouble imagining why it isn't simply a matter of opening the right port on the PSN. Though none of the ports I've encountered were near '66' so I may be missing something completely.
