Hello, In just a few days, the changes enacted with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 which modify the start date of daylight savings time will take effect. In order for GTA firewalls to automatically adjust to Daylight Saving Time on March 11th, 2007, they must be running GB-OS 4.0.3 or higher. Otherwise, the firewall administrator will need to adjust the time on their firewall manually. GTA announced this information via a notice posted to the GTA On-Line Support Center in January 2007.
GTA's GB-OS 4.0.3 (and subsequent releases) incorporates changes that correctly adjust the time utilized on the firewall for North American time zones in accordance with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This act revised the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Starting in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. In addition to operating on GB-OS 4.0.3 or higher, it is necessary to select the correct time zone on your GTA firewall to display the correct time and automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time in North America or equivalent time changes internationally. This can be done under the GB-OS 4.0.3 Configuration > System > Date/Time menu. If your GTA Firewall is not operating on GB-OS 4.0.3 or higher and is located in a North American time zone, you may need to manually reset your time at the beginning and ending of Daylight Saving Time for your firewall to accurately display the correct time. Previous versions of GB-OS do not recognize the start and end date changes associated with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Please feel free to contact the GTA Sales Department if you have any questions, or to find out more information regarding upgrading your firewalls to GB-OS 4.0.3 or higher.
