There are some suggestions at http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SvnSetup such as only keeping the frontends you are working on (java seems the single largest part). Hoever I guess that giving gcc50 more disk is the real answer - it only has 17GB - as it is the only alpha architecture machine.
