Some people have done a lot of work reverse-engineering NVIDIA's proprietary stack to come up with Copylefted Free Software graphic drivers that supports 2D and a substantial part of 3D. Among the necessary conditions for this work are access to the hardware, as well as access to the non-Free software stack it runs. I am not sure how the above applies to the GPGPU world, but I for one would morally support the effort of allowing people to tackle the task of providing Free Software drivers for that platform. Much more -- at this point -- than having a Free Software stack running on closed drivers. But I guess one has to start somewhere anyhow. Just my easy back seat 2 cents. -- Dodji _______________________________________________ Gcc-cfarm-users mailing list Gcc-cfarm-users@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/gcc-cfarm-users
