I think that is very well possible.  Why not just #ifdef that particular
test line to a handful of widely used targets where it is known to work?

With Dominique's message that Darwin doesn't support init_priority, would this be ok? That's the most frequently tested platform, some attributes are already tested elsewhere, etc.
