Really? And after making this mistake (and learning its solution), did they continue to make the same mistake? Because I don't see why it's a good idea to expect people who have just begun learning C to immediately be able to write correct code. BTW, please don't quote the parts of of an article which you are not responding to. Especially not excessively so, which you just did.
