Probably yes. By that I'm referring to the fact that it has kept up
with port requirements through the years such as cc0 removal, LRA
enablement and such.
I do have it in my semi-private tester and regressions are noted and get
fixed. However, the primary purpose of that tester is to identify
target independent bugs. I don't mind doing trivial fixes for the v850
(after all, I did the original port), but if anything significant
breaks, I can't justify spending time on it.

Unlikely to be deprecated as it is being updated for project
requirements, see above.
- When the backend last received meaningful updates or active maintenance
You could see that via the git logs. It mostly "just works".
- The current level of support and test coverage for RH850-U2A and
RH850-U2B specifically
Not familiar with those sub-parts. v850, v850e, v850ev? are where my
experiences with the v850 ended.
