Hi,

My name is *Fisnik* and I am a programmer and recent graduate with a B.Sc. in CS who lives in Sweden. I enjoy programming occasionally when I find something tough to work on—that is intellectually and mentally stimulating for hours. I also aggressively apply a rule that says “Never leave your keyboard till the code works!”

I have stumbled upon *GSoC* for 2026 and I am really curious and truly want to be part of this years *GSoC* programming, and contribute my part to the Open-Source community. I am proficient in C++ and up with most of the latest language changes. I also have intermediate level of C programming.

I read through the GCC for GSoC (https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SummerOfCode) for this year. I am interested in the Rust Front-End project, and read the information regarding it and what is needed to be implemented and solved. This definitely sounds very interesting and seems like a fun tough problem to poke at and figure out. I have some beginner level knowledge of *Rust* and can absolutely learn more as I go. This project sounds exciting; I also read through the instructions on the page and cloned GCC and built it with make in Ubuntu within Windows. I therefore think that we can work together to finish the support of Rust in the GCC project.

Looking forward to hearing back from both of you kindly. This contribution would be a good way for me to learn more and expand my knowledge within the scope of GCC compiler infrastructure.

Sincerely, Fisnik
