I certainly hope that gccgo has a future. I wouldn't have spent so much time on it otherwise. It generates better code than the other Go compiler. I don't personally see any particular advantage to worrying about writing new frontends as plugins. I think plugins have specific very useful goals, but I don't think that new frontends are one of them. Ian
