Thanks for the references. I haven't looked into it but the patch attached to the bug doesn't actually fix the symptom so I am assuming it's not the problem. On the other hand I see that the patch is quite old and never managed into GCC so maybe the problem has been fixed somewhere else. Do you know why the patch never made it into GCC? Paulo Matos
