We're mixing two things. The From: header rewriting for DMARC participants is something sourceware is doing now. The Content-Transfer-Encoding: change is done by intermediate MTA's whose identity is unknown. (I don't believe this behaviour is forbidden by RFCs, but even if it were, we may have no way of fixing the mystery MTA.) - FChE
