I think the layout looks OK. The trouble is the page still looks like a
bit of a mish mash and I think that's because there's not much
structure to the actual /content/ of the page (hence my suggestion a
while ago that we should think about the topic split etc).

I'll try and expand my original page to show a bit better what I mean...

I think we should be drastic with the news items. Perhaps limit it to a
very short & small list of 3 or 4 items at the top of the page (maybe in a
floated-right infobox?). Even with that few items, each items is still
going to sit on the front page for a month or two, since new riscos.info
news items only come up infrequently.
