Debian and Ubuntu and not binary compatible. This probably won't work. @Juien: I'm the Debian package maintainer. Ubuntu usually only syncs my packages to Ubuntu. The build-dependencies haven't changed between 0.12.10 (latest in Ubuntu) and 0.12.12 (latest in Debian). Can you describe your problems? Usually just get the source, probably via: dget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-chemistry-utils/gnome-chemistry-utils_0.12.12-1.dsc Then get the build-deps via: apt-get build-dep gnome-chemistry-utils If you have the package build-essentials installed, build the package via dpkg-buildpackage or debuild command.
