Scott, Jukka, Frank,
The attached file "structure.doc" belongs to the IJG libjpeg source code
distribution and says:
"The library does not support the lossless (spatial) JPEG process.
Lossless JPEG shares little or no code with lossy JPEG, and would
normally be used without the extensive pre- and post-processing
provided by this library. We feel that lossless JPEG is better handled
by a separate library."
Best regards,
Ivan

Frank,
Thanks for the idea on filing a ticket. I will do that. I tried
another suggestion to install Jasper and see if I could load my images
as lossless JPEG2000 images, however, this does not seem to work. For
the time being I think I will just write a quick converter using
libjpeg, but it would be nice to have support for this in GDAL. I
don't imagine many people run into this file format, though.
Best Regards,
Scott
Hi,
Lossless JPEG2000 images work for me with JP2KAK and JP2MrSID drivers. JP2ECW
works partially, only problem being that it makes a lossy output from lossless
image. I have never played woth lossless JPEG.
