A quick success story and note of thanks here. I often need to move many database tables from AS/400 DB2 into PostgreSQL. Out of habit I tended to do this with MS SQL Server DTS or MS Access. Neither of these were giving me any joy on a recent project. Finally the light went on in my head and I tried ogr2ogr and it worked perfectly - easy to script, easy to log progress and errors, easy to install, etc, etc. We all know what a powerful tool ogr2ogr is for our spatial data, but I was overlooking its utility for more mundane tasks. Thanks Frank, et al for a great, versatile tool!
