Not sure to understand what that means > Would it work to have a local patch > to cpl_findfile that would write the files into /vsimem/gdal_data/* and > then set GDAL_DATA to /vsimem/gdal_data? Why not having a tmpfs mount and just cp the files before launching GDAL ?
