This is just a quick note to follow up on my many questions over the past few
days.
I have successfully built GDAL 3.5 for iOS, and I have fully documented the
procedure I used at:

Note that it includes two patches. The second patch is a very dodgy kludge. I
hope that people who know better than I do will be able to come up with a
better solution and that both patches will be incorporated into future
distributions of GDAL.

suggestions (and a patch).
