Hi,

For a controlled test you should have a way to make the server side to fail
when you want so. I am not sure if simply unplugging you network connector
would make GDAL to repeat the requests. Installing your local WMS server and
stopping it while GDAL is working could be another possibility. Developers
probably have better hints for testing.

Aihe: RE: Retry and delay when downloading WMS

Hello, thanks for your answer, I have tried the command and it shows me the
traffic with the server but it does not show the number of retries (it always
shows 2 retries), that is, if I increase the variable GDAL_HTTP_MAX_RETRY it is
not reflected in the traffic, is there any way to confirm which variables are
being used GDAL_HTTP_MAX_RETRY and GDAL_HTTP_RETRY_DELAY? Thanks an regards

Hi,

Run your command with " --config CPL_CURL_VERBOSE YES" and you should see all
the http messages and what the server answers.

Aihe: [gdal-dev] Retry and delay when downloading WMS

Hello, I am using gdal_translate to download images from web services, and for
the times that the server returns 504 or 502 errors, which are because the
server is not available at that moment or because several requests have been
made to it, I am trying to force the server to download the image using the
variables GDAL_HTTP_MAX_RETRY and GDAL_HTTP_RETRY_DELAY, to increase the number
of retries and wait time between calls to the server, but still there are times
when it gives an error (502 or 504) and does not download the image. Am I using
these variables correctly, or is there another way to do it? Thank you and
regards
