Issue 715: Gears for Windows Mobile ManagedStore bug
http://code.google.com/p/gears/issues/detail?id=715
Comment #1 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, this is expected behaviour and
the problem
will not be fixed.
The 'Cannot connect' dialog you mention appears whenever Pocket IE attempts
to access
a network resource when the device has no network connection. It appears
even when
Gears can serve the resource from its LocalServer. For technical reasons,
it's not
possible for Gears to disable this dialog.
To reduce the frequency with which the dialog appears, Gears populates
Pocket IE's
cache for each of the entries in the LocalServer. The presence of a cache
entry for
a given resource prevents the dialog from being shown. (Note that the
resource is
still served by the Gears LocalServer, not Pocket IE's cache.) As you have
discovered, if you delete a cache entry, the dialog will appear until the
resource is
served by Gears and the cache repopulated.
