Good catch. I bet it's because install.rdf says 3.0.*

instead of 3.*
I see Mozilla Developer Center hasn't been updated either; they still
recommend 3.0.*
(see http://developer.mozilla.org/En/Install_Manifests).
Obviously, whoever makes this change should verify that Gears actually
*does* work
with Firefox 3.1. :)
