I too am having this issue. Changing install.rdf does not rectify the
situation. Now
that Gmail has enable offline mail, many users are going to want to use
Gears just
for this reason. When can we expect an update?
Gears: 0.5.4.2
FF: 3.1b2
Windows 7 (had same issue on Vista, too)
By the way, I'd be happy to be a beta tester for new Gears version on
Windows 7.
