Comment #6 on issue 564 by milimetr88: Failed to load XPCOM error with XP
FF3
http://code.google.com/p/gears/issues/detail?id=564
Recently I have noticed the same problem with my Firefox. Although I have
Gears for
several months the problem appeared in the last few days. I can see this
error *once*
- just after opening Firefox, so it's not a message flood, just an annoying
message.
The second problem I have also for a few days are errors in Tab Mix Plus -
for
example I can't restore hidden tab and I can see errors in the console (all
errors
below). After UNINSTALLING (disabling does not change anything) Tab Mix
Plus there
are no errors.
Do you happen to use Tab Mix Plus?
Errors I receive:
--------------------------
1. A "standard" error described in your previous comments:
Failed to load XPCOM component: C:\Program Files\Google\Google
Gears\Firefox\components\gears_ff2.dll
--------------------------
2. Second one, an unusual one:
Failed to load XPCOM component: C:\Documents and Settings\Ćukasz\Dane
aplikacji\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vufi8h19.default\extensions\{3b56bcc7-54e5-44a2-9b44-66c3ef58c13e}\components\.autoreg
Huh, I have checked that directory and it seems it an HTML Validator's
directory. I
have never ever had problem with it until... some time ago - again! Ok, I
think it's
a Gears' problem.
------------------------------
3. An error in TabMix. There is one more such error message each time I
open a new
tab, close a tab, switch to another tab etc.
TabMix :
Error in initContainer
node = null
caller SM_openAfterCrash
-----------------------------
4. An error that shows up in a console when I try to choose option Restore
tab from
the menu displayed after right clicking on a tab. I have just noticed that
a similar
error is also displayed when closing a tab (see 4b).
TabMix :
Error in containerEmpty

var sessionContainer = this.initContainer(gSessionPath[0])

I hope my description will help someone and that someone will also find a
solution
and post it here :)
