Ben,

Thanks for the heads up. I had installed Gears under Firefox just the
day before installing Chrome. The other thing is that I had just moved
my sites from shared hosting to a VPS with its own nameserver so I
wasn't sure where the problem was coming from. I managed to find the
local copies in the "documents and settings" folder for IE and Firefox
and the problem disappeared. I uninstalled Chrome and Gears originally
hoping to fix the problem by doing that. I will try them both again
when things settle and there are more answers than questions on this
group.
