dojox.offline developed by Brad Neuberg is extremely wonderful, which enables quickest and simpliest way to enable offline support of a website. Apparently it relies on not only google Gears, but also dojo core.
My question is: Can a simple and small framework, like dojox.offline, be seperated from dojo core? Then, this framework could be used when: 1. Mobile offline support, where we should titrate all to minimal, and dojo core is too big. 2. Wherever you do not want to use dojo core. I did not learn much about original Gears API. Maybe for mobile offline case, I should go back to study and dig into Gears API. :-)
