Gears doesn't currently support iPhones or Blackberries.  It would be
a good solution for the supported Windows Mobile/Android devices,
though.

For Blackberries, you can get the current position via the
blackberry.position javascript object (http://www.tonybunce.com/
2008/05/08/Blackberry-Browser-Amp-GPS.aspx).  I don't know if iPhone
supports a similar method of getting position via javascript.
