I have a password protected proxy in my university. I am use gears on linux as the xpi version installs well with firefox. But on windows although I use only firefox I cant even install google gears as it stucks on downloading screen. Google team is claming that it has problems with proxy, but if they just release the xpi version for windows, atleast firefox can be supported on windows, if not ie or chrome.
