ok i think ive got this. ive been operating ham radio for years
(wd8rbc) and im up on tech but the comp is still a little new to me.
so...

do i have this right?

    gears will store my e-mail and i can work on it off line? eg; im
late for class, i pull plugs and jump on the bus with my handy laptop.
while on the bus i can access my email while off line, view my mail,
add, delete, and reply; then when i get to my destination i can go
back on line and the data will be synced and sent? right so far??

    ok, my next question is, now that ive got all of this data in my
rig how do i delete old data when it is no longer of importance to me;
do all of the functions, delete, etc all work as they would while on
line (other than send of course)? ive done a little home work and
understand where this data is stored, can i delete that file or will i
lose the gears prog if this is done? where im going with this is, i
dont want gobs of unneeded data on the rig. how do i keep it to a
minimum? am i close to reality or do i need to do more homework.
anyone got cliff notes hihi! 8's! jim
