Hi Jim!   Sounds like the information you are asking about is a
function of the mail application you are using more than gears
itself.  For instance one online mail app may use gears while another
does not.  I would not imagine that you want to integrate gears
yourself into a mail application?  I guess I'm also assuming you are
referring to an online mail application.  I would imagine most/all
desktop mail applications already have this 'offline' mode.

So how/what features your mail application will have offline will be
dependent on the actual mail app you use, no on gears so much.
