As far as I can tell, there is no Firefox 3.5 release of gears. You need to either downgrade Firefiox (which hurts pretty badly given the new features) or wait for a new version of gears. You could install gears under Chrome or Safari, but frankly I couldn't live without my addons, so I'm stuck with either a downgraded Firefox or no gears.
