> Second, is there a general gecko size-to-cage-size rule of thumb for
Phelsuma? I am specifically wondering how to judge when my hatchlings have
outgrown their current enclosures. When is a young grandis too big for a 5
gal tank? 10 gal?

Can't say about grandis, but I house my hatchling Standing's in five gallon
critter keepers; when they're obviously having a hard time maneuvering, I
move them up. My adults are in twenty gal highs, and they utilize every inch
of it.
