This is real easy. Males have HUGE hemipenal bulges just after the vent. I
suggest you get the Racodactylus book so you can have a good reference on these
geckos.

Yes. In gecko land there is one hard and fast rule: NO TWO MALES! If you have
years and years of experience and a gigantic set-up then there are some
exceptions. For the average size home terraria, keeping males together is not
realistic. Some beginners think keeping males together is ok when they have
kept males together that are not sexually mature. As soon as those males hit
sexual maturity, and/or a female is introduced, presto, dead loser male gecko!

I have had females fight too. Even properly sexed pairs take off each others
tails, so do not get too attached to the tails. In nature, they don't have
tails normally anyway. Apparently they sit around all day in New Caledonia
with nothing better to do that snap off each others tails! ;-)
