Jeanna,
I keep small margarine tub-like containers in my P. pictus tanks. In
these I have a soil/moss mixture that is kept moist with one or two
access holes cut into them. The mixture is 0.5 - 0.75 inches deep, with
a thicker section of material built up opposite the access hole(s). I
find that the pictus will go to these as needed and have good sheds, be
they a few months old or my breeding pair. some will spend most of the
time on these, while others use them occasionally.
