I had some questions about Stenodactylus. The vet clinic I work for, has
just finalized a contract with 4 Petcos in our area. We treat their animals
when they bring them in and we also do a monthly inspection of the animals
on the premises. We are hoping that this will educate the staff on care and
also catch any unhealthy animals prior to being sold.
We performed out first two visits last week. At one of the stores I saw
some geckos listed as dwarf frog eye geckos. I assume they are
Stenodactylus sp. They were in with another type of gecko (I forget what)
and I recommended keeping only one type (species) of reptile together in a
cage.
Anyway these little guys looked nice and fat and I was wondering how
difficult they were to acclimate. I was also wondering how much these guys
normally cost, so I know if what they are asking is reasonable (I don't get
a discount at this store :<). They kind of looked like the picture of S.
sthenodacylus on the GGA site, but I know that their color can vary, so
they may be S. petri. Is there a simple way to figure out what they are?
Any help would be appreciated. I am sorry I did not pay more attention to
the Stenodactylus threads now. ;>
