I recently had a male P. standingi that had to have a toe removed. The
entire toe looked like your description. My vet prescribed antibiotics
to try and have it resolve itself, but it did not, so... back to the vet
to have the toe removed. I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself because
my animal definitely felt pain about the toe. After a local it was
removed with no discomfort at all. My vet also took a couple tiny
sutures that he said would slough off by themselves eventually (they did
after about two weeks). He's fine now. I hope your animal get's better!
