Daniel,

I had trouble with the first couple of hatchlings I got a couple of years ago.
Subsequent hatchlings have done well.

I keep them in 2 gallon plastic terrariums lined with layers of paper
towelling and furnished with branches and cork bark until they are
feeding well and then move them to 5 or 10 gallon naturalistic
vivaria (soil, branches, cork bark).

I find that some individuals will start feeding better if the insects
can crawl up to where the geckos notice them. I use thick branches or
pieces of cork leaned up against the side of the enclosures. Some U.
henkeli will start on wax worms, some on crickets and others will eat
anything that moves. They should start eating anywhere from 2 to 10
days after hatching. Experiment with different size insects if they
don't eat. Anything too large or small will be ignored. Also, do not
leave too many insects with the hatchlings as it will stress them.
Only feed two or 3 insects per animal for the first couple feedings.
If they don't eat after a day or two, remove insects, wait another
day and try again.

Temperatures from 74-78 F day to 60-70F night are adequate.

I have often kept 2-5 hatchlings together, as long as all were eating well.

Hatchlings may also do poorly if the breeding female is missing
something in her diet. Feeding land snails has been known to be
beneficial for Uroplatus. I've also used calcium supplements
dissolved in water and given with a dropper.

High temps and/or low humidity during incubation can also weaken hatchlings.
Incubating between 75-78 F works well.

I hope this helps
