Stupid beginner question, but it's been bugging me for ages.
I've often seen genetics explanations that refer to het offspring looking
'normal'.
It's not hard to understand how it all works, but I've always wondered about the
'normal' appearance, and what it really is, most notably in leopard geckos.
Quite often there are albino x 'something or other', to use an example. If the
'something or other' is a normal phase leopard, I can see the hets looking like
normal. What I'm wondering about is the a het from an albino x patternless or
blizzard etc. What does the 'normal' looking het look like? Does the
patternless or blizzard become the normal? Does the wild type colouration take
over? If it's wild type colouration, where would it come from, if neither parent
has 'normal' genes.
It's a stupid question, I'm sure, but I've never seen a het leopard other than
albino X normal (wild type) cross.
