I have a homemade one that's been in use for just over 4 years.
It's just a styrofoam cooler, a 10 gallon size UTH and rheostat. The deli cups
sit on an egg crate platform raised about 2 inches above the UTH which is set to
approximately 88F. The UTH is just slightly off centre, so the coolest spot is
around 82F.

It's considerably cheaper to make than buying an incubator. The cheapest I could
find here in Canada was $90 CDN (appox $60 US), and I don't always trust 'the
cheapest' very much. This set-up cost me about $25 CDN.
But the biggest advantage is fixing it. If it breaks, I don't have to be a
mechanical genius to figure out what's wrong, and it's really easy to replace
the few working parts, no special parts order needed.
