Obviously, a night time drop in temperature would seem to be more "natural"
but it certainly is not necessary. The sex of Leopard geckos is determined
by the temperature they are incubated at and this is easier to control at a
fairly constant temperature. Many more females are hatched than males.
They make better pets because you can house multiple females together but
multiple males will fight. I have no experience with Bearded Dragons.

I'm not really sure how long it is after mating before the eggs are laid.
Four weeks?

Normally only very young or very old females will produce a one egg clutch.
Most folks cool and rest their Leopards for a couple months each winter.
Then, when they are warmed up in the spring and after they are "plumped up"
they are stimulated to breed by the longer days and the warmth. Females
under 40 grams (more or less) are too small to breed.

I really encourage you to go straight to Amazon or B&N or to Julie at Gecko
Ranch and get a good Leopard Gecko book. Two that come to mind are:

1. The Leopard Gecko Manual by de Vosjoli et al
2. The Leopard Gecko, An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet by
Lyle Puente

Both of these do an excellent job of discussing breeding, incubating,
humidity control, and genetics. I could write all night about these topics
but my typing is very slow and these authors know far more than I do.
