Mine is similar to Hilde's. I have a styrofoam box containing a
4-litre (~1 gallon) plastic box filled with water and a submersible
aquarium heater. You have to experiment to find the right setting
for the heater, since the air in the box will be a few degrees colder
than the temp the heater keeps the water at. You should also consider
that this system only works if room temp is lower than the temp you
want in the incubator.
You can use styrofoam boxes that fish are shipped in, or buy a picnic
cooler for a few bucks.
