Hi everyone,
one of my Heteronotia binoei (Bynoe's gecko) has had a
strange reaction to being gravid. I noticed she was
due to lay, so put her into her own tank. Two days
later, she was falling to one side when she moved, and
her right back leg looked like she couldn't control
it. The eggs she had on board were very large, so I
thought she may have a pinched nerve(!?!). She laid
today and is now walking without falling over, but her
right back thigh is severely bruised and about 3 times
the size of the left thigh. Her forearms also look
swollen. I have left her by herself.
This is her third clutch this season, and the first
time she has had motor problems. Has anyone seen or
heard of anything like this before? She is receiving
vitamin and calium supplements twice/week (at every
feed), which is the same regime that the other girls
are on and no one else has had this problem.
Thanks,
Alexa
