Just had this idea for no-light heating for, e.g., a Leopard Gecko tank.
Basically it's a light bulb in a coffee can with a reflector on top,
including incandescent fixture, underneath the tank. A dimmer would make
this setup even better.
I think I'm going to try it. I'm going to punch holes around the bottom end
of the can with a can opener to ventilate up through the holes in the
reflector. Seems like it should work The only thing I'm worried about is
melting the plastic fixture.
