No! All you will achieve is mold. Some die off is natural. Check the
ingredients of your *chick mash* though. I prefer to use alfalfa and
unadulterated grains. I also use cactus, sweet potato, squash, carrots
and some times dandelion green. I leave the dried skins from the squashes
for them to hide in.
