Cannibalism in feeder insects is usually due to lack of water
(although lack of food will do it too!). I give my insects
chunks of carrot or sweet potato. Both are high in carotene
and other vitamins, and usually don't dry out before they are
mostly eaten.

Usually the larvae and adults will cannibalize the pupae, which
can't fight back or escape!

Superworms need more humidity and higher temperatures than the
regular mealworms. They are tropical forest floor critters,
while mealworms originated in a temperate climate. I don't know
what they did for a living before the invention of agriculture!

I don't think they can absorb water through the skin. Spraying
or high humidity encourages moldy feed.
