Lizards (almost?) all have shoulder and pelvic girdles constructed so that
the limbs stick out straight, horizontal to the ground.  This isn't very
efficient for load-bearing.  Most biomechanics types regard the mammalian
modifications as much superior, especially if you want to be a big animal
and still move fast.  :-)

It also gives you a wiggly walk, which makes it hard to breathe if you
don't have a diaphragm, so it's a good thing lizards are ectothermic
and don't need as much oxygen as a mammal or bird.
