I said 'Do not buy an endangered species' that the animals are smuggled
makes it only worse! I am only telling you the situation as it is, if you
are ignorant about this then you are entitled to, but I will continue to
fight this problem. A problem that is very sensitive to me as I have been
working on the Mascarene Island Phelsuma populations for over ten years
now. My statistics on population densities are NOT based on price and
numbers imported! If that is your method, than I do not have anything to
add.

Emmanuel, I have been in the animal business all my life. Do you have any
idea how many times I have seen self important types who come back from trips
caliming all sorts of things about their study species? I cant list here the
species and people who have over the years either been on the brink or who
were crying the sky is falling the sky is falling! I am not familiar with
Mescarene species on a personal basis other then keeping them over the years.
What you say here migth be true however the numbers being sold and ar very
reasonable prices say otherwise! Do you have a better indicator then that?
Just because you arrive on the Island and cant find any or very few animals
is not a true indication of numbers. This has been shown time and again with
other species. Even here in our own State in the US we had similar things
being touted by the so called scientists till a commercial collector took
some of these people out and showed them ways that they were unaware of to
discover far more animals then they previously even knew existed!Of course it
migth be as you say but its pretty hard to believ with what we are seeing
otherwise in physical evidence. For you to have taken insult by my remark
only shows me your fragile base for proof!
