Lyle,
My dad works with glass (storm door/window installer)
He recommends using a sharp knife... like for cutting
carpet, etc. to cut the silicon bonding at the edges
instead of "busting" out the sides...it's safer, less
dangerous for you, and less chance of breaking the
other sides from the force needed to bust out the
side. I plan to adapt some of my 20g tanks so that
the fronts are changed to sliding doors instead of a
solid glass panel... I am thinking about removing the
front side, installing a 1x2 to hold in the sand, and
then installing 2-groove track to hold the sliding
glass doors... Also, I need to have the screened-top
permamently installed so it doesn't get knocked off
accidently...any advice?
Thanks!
