<< Hello,
I was wondering if anyone feeds their Leopard geckos just mealworms. After
reading The Leonard Gecko Manual, which everyone highly recommends. It's
sounds like a diet of primarily mealworms would not harm them or shorten
their lives. If this book is so highly respected why does everyone fuss
with
crickets? Just curious. Would like to hear your thoughts on this subject.

Hi-
I keep leopards and I feed them a variety of items. Mealworms can be a main
staple, but I prefer to use crickets and waxworms also.
Mealworms will keep longer, with minimal feeding or odor. However, they are
difficult to keep dusted, and can't be gutloaded. Many keepers feed mealworms
exclusively with good success. Its up to your own preferences and needs. 2
animals vs. 200 etc...
I like to give them a variety, because I believe it provides a more balanced
diet. Not expert analysis, just my way of doing it.
I even give laying females pinky mice once a month. Along with a
herptivite/calcium mix in a dish for everybody. (They will lick it up).
Good luck
Jason
