I just hooked up my first heat tape.
I got the 4" from Bean Farm. I am using a 6' piece on a counter with 2 10gal
tanks and 3 28qt sweater boxes.
It isn't getting very hot. Since I have no reference, maybe it is working
perfectly. One side of the tape seems hotter than the other but still my
tanks or sweater boxes don't get over 80-84 degrees in the hot area.
The tape is only warm to the touch.
My dimmer is turned all the way up on high.
If I stick the thermometer probe under the tape on the counter, it gets up
to 100 degrees.
Maybe I am just use to spot lights. Let me know.
I am sure I have the clips on correct or it wouldn't be getting warm at all.
